DNP 840 Topic 1 Individual Success Plan (ISP)

The Individual Success Plan (ISP) assignment in this course requires your collaboration with the course faculty early on to establish a plan for successful completion of mutually identified and agreed-upon specific deliverables for your programmatic requirements. Programmatic requirements are (1) completion of required practice immersion hours, (2) completion of work associated with program competencies, and (3) work associated with completion of your Direct Practice Improvement Project.

General Requirements:

Use the following information to ensure successful completion of the assignment as it pertains to deliverables due in this course:

  • Locate and download Individual Success Plan (ISP) document in the DC Network.
  • Review the DNP Program Milestones document in the DC Network and identify which milestones apply to this course. Note: Not all courses have milestones.
Determine what practice experiences you plan to seek in order to address each competency. Include how many hours you plan to set aside to meet your goals. Learners will apply concepts from each of their core courses to reflect upon, critically examine, and improve current practice and are required to integrate scholarly readings to develop case reports that demonstrate increasingly complex and proficient practice.
  • Use the Individual Success Plan to develop a personal plan for completing your practice hours and how competencies will be met. Show all of the major milestones and deliverables.

Within the Individual Success Plan, ensure you identify specific deliverables which can include the following: individualized DNP practice immersion contracts; comprehensive clinical log of hours applied to doctoral level learning outcomes; learner evaluations; mentor evaluations; current and updated CV; scholarly activities; GCU DNP competency self-assessment; reflective journal; course goals and plan for how competencies and practice immersion hours will be met; faculty and mentor approvals of course goals and documented practice immersion hours; and DPI project milestones.

  • Identify the specific deliverables you will complete throughout this course from those defined above or others negotiated with your faculty. And you need to turn in a new Individual Success Plan for all courses.
  • Identify the remaining deliverables you will complete in the upcoming courses.
  • List the challenges you expect to encounter as you continue the practice hour and competency requirements throughout this course? How might you overcome these challenges?
  • You can renegotiate these deliverables with your faculty throughout this course and update your Individual Success plan accordingly.
  • This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.
  • You are not required to submit this assignment to LopesWrite.

  • Discussion Questions (DQ)

Initial responses to the DQ should address all components of the questions asked, including a minimum of one scholarly source, and be at least 250 words. Successful responses are substantive (i.e., add something new to the discussion, engage others in the discussion, well-developed idea) and include at least one scholarly source. One or two-sentence responses, simple statements of agreement or “good post,” and responses that are off-topic will not count as substantive. Substantive responses should be at least 150 words. I encourage you to incorporate the readings from the week (as applicable) into your responses.

  • Weekly Participation

Your initial responses to the mandatory DQ do not count toward participation and are graded separately. In addition to the DQ responses, you must post at least one reply to peers (or me) on three separate days, for a total of three replies. Participation posts do not require a scholarly source/citation (unless you cite someone else’s work). Part of your weekly participation includes viewing the weekly announcement and attesting to watching it in the comments. These announcements are made to ensure you understand everything that is due during the week.

  • APA Format and Writing Quality

Familiarize yourself with the APA format and practice using it correctly. It is used for most writing assignments for your degree. Visit the Writing Center in the Student Success Center, under the Resources tab in Loud-cloud for APA paper templates, citation examples, tips, etc. Points will be deducted for poor use of APA format or absence of APA format (if required). Cite all sources of information! When in doubt, cite the source. Paraphrasing also requires a citation. I highly recommend using the APA Publication Manual, 6th edition.

  • Use of Direct Quotes

I discourage over-utilization of direct quotes in DQs and assignments at the Master’s level and deduct points accordingly. As Masters’ level students, it is important that you be able to critically analyze and interpret information from journal articles and other resources. Simply restating someone else’s words does not demonstrate an understanding of the content or critical analysis of the content. It is best to paraphrase content and cite your source.

  • LopesWrite Policy

For assignments that need to be submitted to Lopes Write, please be sure you have received your report and Similarity Index (SI) percentage BEFORE you do a “final submit” to me. Once you have received your report, please review it. This report will show you grammatical, punctuation, and spelling errors that can easily be fixed. Take the extra few minutes to review instead of getting counted off for these mistakes. Review your similarities. Did you forget to cite something? Did you not paraphrase well enough? Is your paper made up of someone else’s thoughts more than your own? Visit the Writing Center in the Student Success Center, under the Resources tab in Loud-cloud for tips on improving your paper and SI score.

  • Late Policy

The university’s policy on late assignments is a 10% penalty PER DAY LATE. This also applies to late DQ replies. Please communicate with me if you anticipate having to submit an assignment late. I am happy to be flexible, with advance notice. We may be able to work out an extension based on extenuating circumstances. If you do not communicate with me before submitting an assignment late, the GCU late policy will be in effect. I do not accept assignments that are two or more weeks late unless we have worked out an extension. As per policy, no assignments are accepted after the last day of class. Any assignment submitted after midnight on the last day of class will not be accepted for grading. DNP 840 Full Course Assignments

  • Communication

Communication is so very important. There are multiple ways to communicate with me: Questions to Instructor Forum: This is a great place to ask course content or assignment questions. If you have a question, there is a good chance one of your peers does as well. This is a public forum for the class. Individual Forum: This is a private forum to ask me questions or send me messages. This will be checked at least once every 24 hours. DNP 840 Full Course Assignments

Informatics in the Clinical Setting

Informatics in the Clinical Setting

Informatics in the Clinical Setting Conduct an interview with someone in an informatics role in a clinical setting. Then, in a Microsoft Word document of 5-6 pages formatted in APA style, discuss each of the following criteria

  • Role description and education level required for the role.
  • Describe their views on how their role affects patient safety and improves the quality of patient care.
  • Describe the human factors faced in the role and other challenges.
  • Express insights gained from the interview.
  • Research and discuss the impact of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) Patient Safety Indicators and The Joint Commission Patient Safety Goals in your clinical setting. Describe how these governing agencies influence delivery of direct patient care.
  • Research, discuss, and identify the Technology Informatics Guiding Education Reform (TIGER) utilized in your clinical setting. Be sure to get the perspective of your selected informatics professional during your interview.

On a separate references page, cite all sources using APA format. Helpful APA guides and resources are available in the  University Online Library. Below are guides that are located in the library and can be accessed and downloaded via the University Online Citation Resources: APA Style page. The American Psychological Association website also provides detailed guidance on formatting, citations, and references at APA Style. • APA Citation Helper • APA Citations Quick Sheet • APA-Style Formatting Guidelines for a Written Essay • Basic Essay Template Please note that the title and reference pages should not be included in the total page count of your paper.

You must proofread your paper. But do not strictly rely on your computer’s spell-checker and grammar-checker; failure to do so indicates a lack of effort on your part and you can expect your grade to suffer accordingly. Papers with numerous misspelled words and grammatical mistakes will be penalized. Read over your paper – in silence and then aloud – before handing it in and make corrections as necessary. Often it is advantageous to have a friend proofread your paper for obvious errors. Handwritten corrections are preferable to uncorrected mistakes. Use a standard 10 to 12 point (10 to 12 characters per inch) typeface.

Smaller or compressed type and papers with small margins or single-spacing are hard to read. It is better to let your essay run over the recommended number of pages than to try to compress it into fewer pages. Likewise, large type, large margins, large indentations, triple-spacing, increased leading (space between lines), increased kerning (space between letters), and any other such attempts at “padding” to increase the length of a paper are unacceptable, wasteful of trees, and will not fool your professor. The paper must be neatly formatted, double-spaced with a one-inch margin on the top, bottom, and sides of each page. When submitting hard copy, be sure to use white paper and print out using dark ink. If it is hard to read your essay, it will also be hard to follow your argument.

  1. Refer to the infographic provided and chose a biome to describe with an example ecosystem.
  2. Provide one example of a keystone species found in the biome/ecosystem.  Why is this keystone species important to the biome/ecosystem?  What defines it as a keystone species?
  3. Provide an example of an invasive species found in the biome/ecosystem.  What are some of the negative impacts this invasive species has on the ecosystem?  What is being done to mitigate impacts?
  4. Provide one example of an endangered species found in the biome/ecosystem.  Briefly discuss the causes of the decline in the species and what is being done to help.

Please include at least 3 academic sources and make sure all sources are cited in your essay. You must proofread your paper.

We will process your orders through multiple stages and checks to ensure that what we are delivering to you, in the end, is something that is precise as you envisioned it. All of our essay writing service products are 100% original, ensuring that there is no plagiarism in them. The sources are well-researched and cited so it is interesting. Our goal is to help as many students as possible with their assignments, i.e. our prices are affordable and services premium.

Multi-Person Family Therapy

Multi-Person Family Therapy

Multi-Person Family Therapy (a session including more than one family member present ) What theory can I use for this description?

CNL-500 Topic 6: Comparison Worksheet Ashley S. Lewis Directions: Choose two family systems theories (Bowenian, Structural, Strategic, or Satir) and one individual counseling theory studied in this course (any theory studied in topics 1-5) and compare the three theories. Part 1: Create a hypothetical family. Develop a scenario that has caused this family to seek counseling. The scenario should be 150-250 words in length. Be sure to include the following in the scenario: 1) Identify the members of the family; 2) The problem/focus of therapy; 3) Family rules which enabled the problem to continue; and 4) rationale for who the identified patient (IP) is.

Family Scenario: A family of five beginning with the mother (F) who is 50 years old and named Bethany her husband George (M) is 59 years old. Then we have the three daughters two who are twins (F) the age of 17-years old named Kehlani and Novah and the third daughter who is 23 years old and is named Aurora. The problems occurring are lack of communication, trust, and disrespect which come from one of the daughters that was sexually abused by the father’s dad which is the survivor’s grandfather. Factor that continue to enable the issue are triggers, bringing up the abuser in front of the survivor, name calling, and assumptions. In this case the patient who is the survivor is 17-year-old Novah. George seems to be in denial about the abuse and has multiple times let that be known in front of the whole family including Novah. This has also caused issues amongst the couple and which bring arguments that lead into disrespect of one another. Although this has happened, and everyone is aware there is not communication amongst the individuals. They seem to just move forward without sitting down and working on the problem.

Part 2: Complete the specific fields listed in the chart for each theory chosen. All sections will require a 50-75-word description except for the section where you list the three treatment interventions.

Interview and Leadership Analysis

Interview summary On October 30, 2020, I was privileged to interview Ms. Forester in her office. Ms. Forester is the Director of Clinical Services in a local Nursing home located in Weld County, Colorado. She is a Masters in Geriatric Nursing holder and has a five-year experience in the care of elderly patients following this academic qualification.  I met with her to ask a series of questions about her practice, leadership, research involvement, the challenges faced in practice, and response to these challenges. Some of the questions asked during the interview were the professional journey she went through to reach her current position, what motivations she had to join the profession, the professional organizations to which she is a member and the roles in these organizations, as well as the challenges she faces in her practice. I also asked her what her biggest achievements in the nursing practice are. In the current position, the primary responsibilities she has are to ensure the smooth running of operations, programs, and activities within the nursing home. She also plans, directs, and coordinates a high standard of care services. She also provides professional input on staffing and participating in educational programs in which she provides mentorship to other junior staff and students. Some of her nursing profession’s motivations are the opportunities one has to influence practice through research positively. However, she states that nursing is an emotionally demanding job, especially when caring for elderly patients or minority groups, and requires a great deal of resilience. So far, she has influenced positive changes in quality, safety, and evidence-based standards in the current workstation by advocating for adequate staffing, establishing a nurse emotional support peer program, and improving the working environment. Besides the nursing home’s leadership roles, she is an active member of the Gerontological Society of America.

Analysis of Ms. Forester’s Leadership

Ms. Forester is a transformational leader and a change agent. According to Moon, Van Dam, and Kitsos (2019), transformational leadership is characterized by a leader empowering, motivating, and challenging followers beyond the status quo, which often results in positive organizational performance. Ms. Forester has influenced the improvement of nursing services and the nursing staff’s welfare in the facility. She actively advocates for optimal service delivery as well as fair remuneration of the staff. For instance, she successfully championed additional nursing staff’s employment to reduce the workload by reducing the nurse-patient ratio. This was meant to reduce burnout among nurses and to promote motivation and job satisfaction. As pointed out by Garcia et al. (2019), burnout can negatively influence patients’ quality of care. It can also influence the treatment outcomes of a patient. Through advocacy for proper staffing and initiation of an emotional support peer program for nurses, she demonstrated that she had a deep concern about workers’ welfare in the facility and was committed to improving the working environment. Indirectly, she was also promoting service delivery for patients. Ms. Forester is also an effective communicator in her role. As the Director of Clinical Services, she coordinates services in the nursing home, which is only possible if one has excellent communication skills. These entail effective listening and clarity of messages passed to others. Effective communication is crucial in negotiation, and her advocacy efforts for proper staffing were successful due to good interpersonal communication and relationship with others (McCaffrey & Reinoso, 2017). Besides, Ms. Forester fosters interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary collaboration, which requires excellent communication skills (O’Reilly et al. 2017). She is a member of the Gerontological Society of America, a multidisciplinary organization for healthcare providers. I believe Ms. Forester is qualified to be a doctoral preceptor. She has rich clinical experience in her specialty with experience of five years. She has also been a researcher and advocate for positive change. She is well known and respected in the facility as well as in the surrounding community. She has both formal and informal powers, which enable her to succeed in influencing positive change in the nursing home. She is also well respected among the staff, and she happens to be a mentor to some of the junior nursing staff. She has been involved in multiple interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research projects, and she can guide me during my research project. She can also help me network with other researchers for collaboration in research projects. Being a Director of Clinical Services, one of Ms. Forester’s responsibilities is compiling, analyzing, reporting, and maintaining data concerning the institution’s activities and services. She also deals with budgeting and controls costs in various departments. She has to ensure data integrity and safety by limiting access to non-authorized individuals. As such, she can provide protection and data privacy. She can also provide ethical stewardship and oversight when accessing information that is sensitive to the facility. One of the major challenges Ms. Forester faces and a possible gap to be addressed in the capstone project is the lack of knowledge and expertise in electronic record-keeping among the nursing staff working in the nursing home. Most nurses who are struggling with basic computer skills have challenges using the computerized system for record-keeping. The possible consequences of not using electronic health records are increased medical errors, inefficiency, and negative patient outcomes (Kruse et al. 2018). This is an organizational problem, and some of the recommended interventions include rolling out an educational program that teaches basic computer skills. This approach can have a long-term positive impact on service delivery and patient satisfaction. It will also reduce the cost of record keeping.

Digital Clinical Experience: Focused Exam: Cough
