Describe the background of the situation, including the rationale for and goal(s) of the change.
Adding a introduction to this part as well. Working in public health, as a nurse you are being of service to the community. Public health nursing is geared towards education, teaching and prevention. To manage change is they key. Planned change in nursing can be necessary for several reasons but to implement these changes can be so stressful. As a leader we must incorporate our interpersonal skill to help our organization reach its full potential. As a leader we will start a vision, which then leads to being organized, being direct and delegate tasks.

Background helping the people of the community to receive family planning services such as birth control, papsmears, sti testing and annual breast exams are the services being offered. Due to Covid-19 our services have been limited in regard the patients that we are able to see. Services have been limited to sti person only if they are asymptomatic. Regardless, if the yearly exam is due. Helping the patient get the care they need is what our mission is. Also helping the patient to receive the care they need will prevent or reduce emergency room visits. Also it will help reduce the outbreaks reportable diseases that have to be reported to department of health.

Rational for and goals of the change

Would be to help reduce outbreaks within the community, reduce er visits, reduce pregnancy rates, and stay up to date with papsmears. ( although paps are good for 3 years, there can be times when person needs to have one more frequent). The goal for this change would be to reduce outbreaks and improve patient health.

**** I would say just make sure you read the introduction and background before you do this section. So wat we are doing are people who are symptomatic, we are seeing them and getting them in and just doing their papsmear. You just cant come in to b screened, u have to have symptoms or be a contact of someone who was positive for a STI. There are still so many people who are being left out due to our limited scheduling of people that we can see. With covid-19, they wanted to limit exposure to the public. Yes we emphasize our mask but at the same time, we are essential workers, we have to help serve the community.
